E-Learning Services
Edgenics will deploy IT infrastructure and e-learning applications/content as consisting of: (A) interactive classroom facilities {student workstations, LAN and IP bandwidth} at each participating school and learning center; (B) servers and related IT infrastructure at Edgenics e-Learning network nodes; (C) central data-center facilities at which e-Learning course content is hosted on a Learning Management System with supporting e-mail servers, collaboration servers, video servers and other related infrastructure; (D) university and other content partners who will help to develop leading edge interactive content; and (E) geographically distribute local school and learning center facilities. The LMCS development is being pursued by Edgenics as a member of the Sakai consortium of leading universities.
Educational technology and IT technology are key components of the project. The e-Learning environment will utilize leading edge network, computer, and software technology to create a distance learning experience that is near-face-to-face. Research has shown that e-Learning is more effective the more closely it approximates traditional face-to-face classroom engagement. Using modern IT technology, we will use collaborative software tools, digital video and other communications and software applications to achieve this goal.
